Some valid questions on Nuclear deal
Posted : Friday, July 04, 2008 By : chandan kolvankar

Government says that nuclear deal is necessary for the nuclear power generation. I agree with this. I also agree that nuclear power is clean. But will anybody clear my doubts? I have two doubts.

  1. If you notice, we have water for hydro electric power plants. Natural gas for dabhol or uran power plant, coal for thermal plants, wind for wind power and Sun for solar power. Only thing is that we don't have enough Uranium for nuclear power but we have thorium with us. I doubt governments attitude towards power plants. Government has never worked on power plants seriously. Apart from nuclear has government used the other resources efficiently?
  2. If we have deal with US what will be the cost of this power?

As far as pollution is concerned, its better not to talk because we never see pollution as a problem. We enjoy inhaling all the gases on a traffic junction as if its only oxygen.

Please clear my doubts.
