President George W. Bush’s “letter bomb” has blown the lid of the nuclear deal.
All along the Dr. Manmohan Singh had been assuring the nation that the deal is on a level playing field and that it would solve our country’s energy problem. Now it turns out that the deal is just like India buying an expensive car with no certainty of the fuel supply or the spare parts.
The supply of fuel can be stopped by the US under any flimsy ground, say India not support a US attach on Iran. The reason the US administration was in such a hurry to finalise the pact is that once it is done, the US could pressurise India to buy expensive military hardware from them. If we refuse, the deal is off.
