Superstition – The black evil which is pushing country towards the darkness every day. Media was the only ray of hope. If they are not able to remove it from the root, they could have at least decreased the superstition among People. But; it seems that media is playing a leading role in increasing Superstition!
From Print to Television, every part of media is giving rise to Superstition that has spread among people. You open any Newspaper in the morning; there won’t be any newspaper which doesn’t carry Horoscope, be it any Regional or National newspaper. Besides that, they publish columns relating to a particular religion that is supported by the newspaper.
While switching over to television, in that too you will find less news and more Astro Pandits telling you about how your next day, month or year would be. Along with it, many-a-times during festivals they tell us about what to do and what not to do. While observing all these we forget that the person teaching us all these do’s and don’ts is not doing it for the sake of people, but is just trying to fill his pockets. Neither is he God’s messenger who can predict your future!
And on our part, we call them or send SMSes asking about our future just like fools. Our future is in our hands. If we work hard, none of the planets or stars can cause damage to us or stop us from moving ahead. But; who thinks that? Everyone wants to be a great person based on the predictions to Astrologers. How can a person who doesn’t know what will happen to him in the next minute, tell your future?
This was beautifully portrayed by Rajkumar Hirani in his film Lage Raho Munnabhai. These Astrologers and Media people are just earning their bread and butter and nothing else. On one hand, media are exposing the fraud babas who are misdirecting people and looting them. On the other hand, they are giving rise to Astro pandits. Why they are doing this? Only to have more TRP by gaining more publicity which ultimately results to increase in revenue.
This is the last thing expected from Media. But today only money speaks honey! Gone are the days when media people were considered representatives of people. Today, they are only representatives of Money.
