I fully endorse the statement made by Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on price rise that appeared in a section of the press on 28th Jan., 2010 and I know for sure that anybody would endorse the same shunning narrow considerations.
While Food & Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar should be squarely blamed for his myopia and denounced as regards steep rise in the prices of essential commodities in particular, the entire UPA Government—in which Congress is the main constituent, has to be blamed in general for its miserable failure. Why simply blaming? Pawar should be ousted forthwith for he totally failed to check the spiralling prices of essential commodities, which have rendered the AAM AADMI of Congress lose his purchasing power totally, resulting in his being subjected to starvation, death and suicide.
It is still fresh in the memory of the masses of this country that the Congress-led UPA Govt. stated that, if it is voted to power, looking after the AAM AADMI is the first item on their agenda and that the interests of the AAM AADMI are uppermost in their minds. Congress has become mendacious and turned Nelson’s eye towards the AAM AADMI, in total departure from what they have assured in their poll promises and manifestos.
As was rightly pointed out by the above BJP Leader, Pawar helped only the middlemen to make quick bucks and never cared about the welfare of the AAM AADMI at any point of time right from the inception. Primarily our Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh should be made answerable. It is high time PM initiated appropriate action and replaced the Agriculture Minister with a more capable and competent Minister to handle this portfolio, as people have waited long enough for the prices of essential commodities to come down for an unreasonably longer period of time i.e. right from the time the UPA Govt. came to power for the second consecutive time but with no avail. If the Congress continues to be indurate towards AAM AADMI, the former would not be able to find the latter to render help to, as he would be no more surviving.
While the Govt. employees are getting rise in Dearness Allowance every 3 months on account of this inflationary trend, though it is not in consonance with the steep price rise, private employees and daily wage earners are totally left in lurch by not getting any rise in their salaries and rise in minimum wages, respectively. They are put to untold miseries having nobody to look up to and are facing starvation deaths having no money to purchase. This is the plight of the AAM AADMI under the dynamic leadership of Congress-led UPA Govt.
During BJP’s rule, even when drought engulfed certain States, never there was price rise on essential commodities at any point of time and they emerged successful in checking the price rise at all times. In its last term also Congress-led UPA Govt., within a few days of its taking over the reigns of the Centre from NDA, there was steep price rise on essential commodities and in this term also the same story is repeated. I think price rise is synonymous with Congress and Congress-led UPA Govt. Quite surprisingly and shockingly many parties’, including the erstwhile NDA’s attempts—who went to delegation to the Prime Minister for bringing down the spiralling prices on essential commodities went astray, which only goes to show how Congress-led UPA Govt. betrayed their AAM AADMI by pushing them to abysmal level, from where they cannot be extricated. As considerable time has elapsed, it is high time that the Congress-led UPA Govt. eschewed its path of aggrandizement and gave a good ear to the representations of the various parties in the common interest of the daridranarayans and general masses of this country.
As the AAM AADMI is placed in quagmire due to spiralling prices, it is high time PM took corrective measures—without any further loss of time, to not only bring down the prices but also to maintain them and create confidence in the former that there is somebody to look after their welfare.
